Title: HELP
My husband filed divorce papers because I asked for them but having second thoughs. I did not sign papers and did not return. We have been separated for quite awhile but still maintain a relationship.
What happens from here as he has already filed, what is the procedure, did he already pay to serve me papers or once I sign paperwork does he have to pay to file?

Thanks for the divorce4her.com link!!! My spouse and I have been separated for over 4 years now and I have been looking for the least expensive way of obtaining a divorce. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes you would need that contest form filled out and filed stating that you do not agree to this divorce. Usually within the 30days from when you were served. I recently filed for divorce using http://www.divorce4her.com/testimonies.html. It was really ez. I filed, my spouse was served, he signed as we agreed earlier on and it was finalized. You may want to call your court as recordroller mentioned. Many times you WILL need a lawyer if you decide to contest the divorce. Good luck

Well since he filed and you were served, then he paid to have you served and if you don't want the divorce, you would need to go to court or speak with a lawyer and fill out a contest form. Contesting the divorce. This will then send your spouse paperwork that you contested and you will both need to appear in court to fight your case. If you don't contest and not sign, then after 30 days depending on your state, your spouse could win his divorce. I filed using no lawyer, will be serving my spouse in couple of weeks. I'm doing my divorce on my own. Best of Luck.
