I am leaving my spouse of 7 months. Outside of never having a good relationship, he needed some large debt paid or he would go to jail 4 months after we were married. I scrambled all the money I could and directly paid for about 18K of that debt. He decided to not work while we were married and had a few contractual weeks which grossed him 12K in the past 7 months. I have contributed over 95K to the marriage. He had agreed to pay me back (as I need the money for my kids tuition bills) last May which would have him work 25 contract days to pay the tuition (11K). That has not happened. He claims since I am not staying he does not owe it and he has also staked claim to all things purchased during the marriage (1000s of dollars). What rights do I have to the marital items as well as the things I purchased for us and money I sent him before marriage. It is probably obvious that he married me for money though he claims he didn't (except for the fact has "moved on" in his words).
Needless to say right now I am getting nothing but large debt and lost money and things I came with. You must Login / Register to post a reply.
