I agree singlemommetodeath. 100 yrs. ago Dads wrer given prefrence for custody esp. for boys. I hate the way the courts have been able to turn this into a gender war. Only to make money off it. Parents are so blinded by anger that we allow this system to grind what is left of the family up to try and win something that one if not both parents never wanted to happen. Christ said "divorce is due to a hardening of the heart." I beleive pop culture is promoting this. Almost all sitcoms depect Dad as moren, idot, or Moma's boy. This seems like propaganda to to me. I am all for treating woman with respect but I think men should also be treated respectfully. If women want to be equal with men then they should have to take the good with the bad.

Its basicly the law of the land and for most of the modern world for that matter. I think its also a gender issue mostly. Mom is assumed a better caregiver of young children as dad has more earning potential. Thus the law places us into our stereotypical roles. But legally one parent has to have majority custody of the kids and that falls to the parent that has been given the most days with the kids. Thus ensues the infamous "nasty divorce" scenario. In my county(and believe me state to state and county to county are all different) the mother usually has majority days with kids unless she is a crack whore or stripper lol. So if your a dad who desparately wants time with his kids and sees this waning during proceedings and mediation-welcome to hell my friend, your in for the ride of your life.
