How do you calculate how much alimony you should be getting without paying a lawyer?

Unlike child support, there is no standard calculation for the amount of alimony one spouse should pay the other. Alimony is much more based on the facts and circumstances of the marriage (length of marriage, work history of both spouses, existence of disabilities, etc.). To try to calculate an amount without a lawyer's assistance can be very costly.
